COURSES

"Come away, relax and create"
We would love to welcome you here at Escrimis to participate in one of our inspiring courses held in the Spring and Autumn each year. These seasons are the perfect time to visit the stunning region of the Gers. The fresh bright promise of Spring bursts through across the valleys and vineyards, whilst the Autumn brings soft late summer light and the mellow colours of the changing landscape.
During your course, you will be able to relax in the beautiful surroundings and will also be given the opportunity to learn or to improve your skills. Whatever your level, you will be welcomed and given all the help you need. Our very well-established creative tutors, all successful and recognised globally for their work, are very approachable and experienced in tutoring, passing on their wide knowledge and skills.
Your visit will also bring you the pleasure of meeting like-minded people in a creative environment, making new friends and working along-side each other.
We do not offer lodging here at Escrimis but have arranged a great package at Château Larrouzè, only five minutes’ drive from us. The recently restored château in a wonderful setting, offers first-class comfort combined with delicious home-cooked food using the best of locally sourced produce. Please see the page on accommodation on this site.
Transport is available if required for airport transfer, as well as travel to Escrimis from your accommodation, and for any trips organised. The town of Condom nearby offers all the amenities you may need such as bank, shops and a hospital.
During your time in the atelier, you will be well looked after with delicious refreshments. Each day you will be offered morning coffee with pastries. A light lunch will be served on the sunny terrace if weather permits, or in the large French style kitchen of the main house. An afternoon break will include a beautiful afternoon tea with home-made cakes. If we venture out to paint in another location a picnic lunch will be provided.
Tuition hours will be set according to your individual courses but you are welcome to use the chapel for non-instructed periods to continue to work on your creation at your own pace, or you may simply prefer to spend a little time resting on the terrace or under the shade of a tree, reading some of the numerous art books from our library.
Four weeks before your course you will be sent a full list of the materials you need to bring. We supply the basics such as easels, lights, pots, boards, embroidery rings and sewing accessories. We will have a limited supply of art materials should you forget something.
You will receive a goody bag plus one of our atelier aprons.
There will be a friendly welcome soiree on the evening prior to the course commencing, giving you the chance to meet your tutor and fellow attendees.
There will be an organised trip out one morning or afternoon to either a market, art gallery or place of interest. The cost of this is included in our fee.
Class sizes are limited to a number enabling our tutors to give you sufficient attention, this will be stated on the specific course details. We also reserve the right to cancel the course with plenty of notice if there are not a sufficient number of participants and a full refund will be given.
